CIVITAS CAPITAL GROUP

젊은 투자 회사 Civitas Capital Group은 미국 텍사스에 그들의 새로운 HQ를 마련했다. 사이트는 Dallas의 Arts District, One Arts Plaza 빌딩 8층의 넓은 공간이었으며, 클라이언트는 오피스가 브랜드의 이미지처럼 창의적이고 혁신적이면서도 고객들에게 신뢰를 줄 수 있는 요소들로 채워지기를 바랐다. 8층에 도착해 엘리베이터를 나서는 고객들은 Civitas Capital Group의 브랜드 컬러로 칠한 빨간 입구를 지나 쾌적한 로비로 들어서게 된다. 방문자와 상담을 기다리는 고객들은 넓은 창을 통해 ArtsDistrict의 스카이라인을 바라볼 수 있다. 왼쪽 벽면을 차지한 인포메이션 데스크는 우드 루버를 통해 차분하고 정돈된 컨셉으로 꾸몄으며, 이 구조는 회의실과 사무실에도 적용되어 통일성을 이어간다. 로비를 지나 사무공간으로 향하는 복도를 통해 두 개의 대규모 회의장으로 드나들 수 있다. 넓고 쾌적한 회의장에서 직원들과 고객들이 크고 작은 미팅을 진행한다. 대규모 회의장은 차분하면서도 모던한 분위기의 인테리어 디자인으로, 컬러의 활용을 절제하고 기능성과 효율을 중점에 두었다. OFFICIAL의 디자이너가 직접 고른 가구와 소품은 건물 삼면의 넓은 창으로 유입되는자연광과, 창 밖으로 보이는 Dallas 도심지의 아름다운 경치를 부각시킨다. 오피스의 안쪽에 자리한 8개의 미팅룸은 좀 더 캐주얼하고 발랄한 공간으로 꾸몄다. 각각 미팅룸은 8인에서 2인까지 유동적으로 수용 가능하며 근무자들은 화이트컬러의 벽체에 검정 프레임으로 창을 낸 공간을 미팅의 규모에 맞게 활용할 수 있다. 곳곳의 미팅룸에도 역시 브랜드의 상징색인 레드 컬러를 적극적으로 활용했으며, 각각 미팅룸이 유사해 보이지 않도록 블루, 그린 등의 원색 계열 컬러를 한쪽 벽면에 칠했다. 또한, 넓은 창을 통해 내부를 들여다볼 수 있어 금융 기업으로써 Civitas Capital Group이 추구하는 투명성을 드러내면서, 건물 외벽으로 낸 창문과의 일치감을 도모했다. 가장 넓은 미팅룸은 세 개의 부스, 기다란 테이블, 안락한 소파 좌석 등으로 유동적인 활용이 가능하도록 구성했다. 다른 공간들처럼 화이트 컬러를 베이스로 했으나 오피스 전체와 균형을 이루면서도 사무 공간이나 다른 미팅룸들과의 구분을 위해 짙은 파란색을 포인트 컬러로 선택했다. 이 공간은 미팅의 규모에 따라 많은 인원을 한 번에 수용할 수도, 크고 작은 규모의 여러 그룹이 동시에 각자의 컨설팅을 진행할 수도 있다. Civitas Capital Group은 전 세계의 유능하고 젊은 근무자들이 모인 기업으로, 최근 사세의 확장으로 인해 시가지 중심부로 본사를 옮기게 되었다. 이에 OFFICIAL의 디자인 팀은 채광, 뷰(View) 등 사이트가 제공하는 장점은 극대화시키면서 절제된 인테리어 디자인 속에서도 브랜드의 정체성을 드러내고, 나아가 고객들에게 브랜드의 신뢰할 수 있는 이미지를 심어주는 Civitas Capital Group의 새로운 HQ를 완성했다. The new headquarters for Civitas Capital Group occupies 22,000 square feet on the eighth floor of One Arts Plaza in Dallas' Arts District. Civitas is a youthful investment group and they wanted a well-appointed office that represents their approach as creative thinkers and responsible stewards of client investments. The office is organized by a series of formal and informal paths that both conceal and reveal different work areas from the large conference rooms off the lobby to upholstered booths for individual focus to small meeting rooms for teleconferencing. Circulation paths are defined by floor and ceiling elements while significant thresholds are demarcated by the color red. Auxiliary paths act as shortcuts for daily users while guests take choreographed routes. Upon exiting the elevator guests are engaged by a red portal that leads to a dramatic view of the entirety of the Dallas Arts District. Once inside the lobby an expansive floor to ceiling topographic image references the global reach of Civitas. The lobby filters into formal meeting spaces for Civitas and its clients with a board room that can accommodate the full staff. A sliding red door punctuates the transition to the open office and once beyond it, the space becomes team centric. Collaborative height workstations wrap the perimeter, allowing the majority of the staff to embrace the views and natural light. Private offices define the core while still maintaining visual connectivity to their team and the view beyond. Uniformity and democracy of the work station and office sizes was paramount to Civitas. Workstation clusters are numerically labeled and call rooms are color coded for ease of communication and directions for both staff and visitors. The semi-open office space is complemented by a series of less formal break-out spaces that have been visually distinguished and offer a multitude of working conditions to give the staff variety in terms of lighting, privacy, and interactivity. These spaces include a single person phone room with acoustic walls and a large social café visually and aromatically separated from the office areas. Required by the design brief, a tournament grade ping pong room sits at the far end of the office. The perforated steel cube breaks up the open office by providing a partially obscured space with lounge chairs and upholstered booth seating with custom shelving that supports cell phone video conferencing and charging of devices. An extralarge break-out room is concealed on the northernmost end of the space. With work booths, couches, adjustable conference tables, white boards, and video monitors it facilitates all types of work and is often used for team brainstorming sessions. The overall layout of the space takes the good aspects of open office in terms of team unification and collaboration while respecting the needs of an individual by providing many different work environment options. A central corridor contains 24 time zone clocks that correspond to cities that Civitas works within. In an office that speaks over fourteen languages, this functional installation is a visual representation of their global reach. OFFICIAL chose all of the furniture, materials, and lighting. Classic furniture systems were selected and emphasized the natural light and panoramic views that were in the existing shell space. The modern composition of white walls, classic woods, and vibrant colors embodied in expressive volumes of space with an emphasis on natural light is balanced by raw concrete floors and rough cast column surfaces. This design supports the mission of creating an exceptional work environment that promotes people to work at an exceptional level.

CANOPY JACKSON SQUARE

CANOPY Jackson Square는 캘리포니아주 샌프란시스코에 위치한 공용 오피스로 부드러운 색감과 확장된 공간, 현대적인 디자인, 정교한 생활 환경을 특징으로 한다. 효율성과 생산성이 높은 작업 공간이자 조용하고 세련된 공간을 추구한 CANOPY Jackson Square는 소통과 교류를 즐기는 사람들 그리고 딱딱한 사무실 분위기가 아닌 자유분방하고 편안한 사무 공간을 찾는 이들에게 완벽한 곳이다. 테라스를 포함해 약 400평에 이르는 이곳은 개인 사무실과 카페, 오픈 작업 공간, 라운지 등으로 구성되어 있다. 디자인 팀은 ‘당신이 일하고 있는 공간이 당신이 하는 일과 당신에게 영향을 미친다’는 것을 전제로 깔끔하면서도 독립된, 그러나 디자인적으로 눈에 띄고 세련된 공용 오피스를 만들었다. 산만함은 지양하고 사생활 보호와 방음에 신경 썼다. 업무 내용이나 대화에 있어 프라이버시를 중요하게 생각해 개인 사무실은 최첨단 유리 파티션으로 공간을 구성했다. 이는 소리를 완벽히 차단하는 기능을 갖추고 있으며, 개인 사무실 내부에는 부드럽고 따뜻한 느낌의 천장과 바닥, 은은한 조명 등으로 업무상 높은 퀄리티의 대화를 유도한다. 또한, 기능에만 충실하지 않고 세련된 느낌을 주는 슬림한 검은 프레임을 투명한 유리 벽으로 채움으로써 시각적으로도 투명하고 깔끔한 인상을 준다. CANOPY Jackson Square에는 회의실, 보드룸, 휴게실, 전화 부스, 업무에 관련된 필수품을 판매하는 상점, Blue Bottle Coffee, Pique Tea, Sodastream 등 다양한 업무 공간과 편의 시설이 마련되어 있다. 디자이너는 일상적인 대화와 업무 회의를 위한 라운지와 공용 사용 공간, 카페를 가깝게 배치해 같은 사무실을 이용하는 다른 업계 사람들과 쉽게 만날 수 있도록 했다. 디자이너의 아이디어와 배려, 공간의 효율적인 배치로 인해 CANOPY Jackson Square에서 일하는 사람들은 문화, 디자인, 패션 등 한 곳에서 다양한 분야와 소통하며 지식 공유를 통해 풍부한 경험을 얻어갈 수 있다. 혁신적인 사운드 컨트롤과 심플한 디자인, 부드러운 컬러감의 가구, 업무의 효율과 개개인의 편의를 위한 시설을 고루 갖추고 있는 CANOPY Jackson Square는 사람들과 부대끼며 함께 하는 사회이자 편하게 일할 수 있는 작업 공간 사이에서 균형을 이루고 있다. 내부 공간 곳곳에는 사람들에게 안락함을 줄 수 있도록 푸른 계열의 색과 파스텔 톤을 많이 활용했으며, 자연 속에 머무는 듯한 효과를 위해 식물과 같은 조경 요소를 다수 배치했다. 또 다른 휴식 공간으로 샌프란시스코의 도시 전경을 감상할 수 있는 약 40평 규모의 야외 테라스가 있다. 이곳은 건강하고 친환경적인 업무 환경을 지향하는 CANOPY Jackson Square의 의도가 명확히 드러나는 공간이기도 하다. CANOPY Jackson Square delivers impeccable contemporary design, a cultured and diverse community, and a serene, distraction-free environment in an elegant and expansive setting complete with an innovative outdoor terrace for up to 300 members to concentrate, connect and do their best work. Encompassing 13,000 square feet of premium office space including a standout 1,500 square-foot outdoor terrace, CANOPY Jackson Square uniquely affords members refined design along with ample spaciousness that is lacking in other, often cramped, collaborative workspaces. Further, it offers the rare feature to work outdoors with views of some of the City’s most iconic edifices. Inside, CANOPY Jackson Square is just as exceptional, inviting members to work in glass enclosed offices and open spaces or to join their counterparts within a literal canopy lounge, boardroom or shared work areas – all exercises in visual expression. Outside, CANOPY Jackson Square features an innovative outdoor work terrace encompassing 1,500 square feet of breathtaking views of San Francisco and presenting a healthy and new work style enabled by technology and design. The exterior space features three zones comprising a café-style seating, a casual lounge space and workspaces for one-on-one collaboration or meetings complete with marble tables and high-quality, ergonomic, heated seating by Galanter & Jones and an outdoor awning structure designed to enable longer and more comfortable outdoor work sessions year-round. Combining contemporary architecture, local materials and cutting-edge technologies, CANOPY is the most advanced yet intimate place of work. The space features the latest in contemporary office furnishings from Herman Miller (Yves Behar-designed Sayl Chairs and Public Office Landscape System Tables, Charles and Ray Eames Chairs, Chadwick Modular Seating, Renew Sit-to-Stand Tables by Brian Alexander), and will also incorporate the LiveOS system by Herman Miller, which automatically raises and lowers desks to the perfect height when it senses that a specific user is in front of it. These pieces are complemented by Eric Trine coffee tables and planters, Rodolfi Rodroni for Kettal outdoor furniture, Raw Edges for Mutina tiles, vintage 60s and 70s Preben Dahl lights, floating copper shelves designed by Yves and Amir, and M-PROJECTS-custom designed conference tables made of blackened ash and Verde Alpi green and black marble, as well as solid ash communal tables. Bay Area craftspeople and artisans are also amply showcased throughout with ceramics from Year & Day and a plaster gradient wall by artist Victor Reyes within the break room and café, plus custom-designed tables, cabinets and light fixtures.

THREE THOUSAND OFFICE

T he new site of the 3000 Apparel Company headquarters is located in Nanjing’s Huachen Building, with a construction area of approximately 500 square meters. The company’s vision was to connect two apartments and transform them into a three-in-one multi-purpose loft space consisting of a modern office area, clothing display room and live web streaming studio. FANAF proposed the concept of “simplification and complexity”. The office’s transformation was completed with a view to use the space to showcase a range of beautifully colored clothing and accessories in a variety of shades and styles. The designers wanted the backdrop to be as simple as possible to ensure that all eyes would be drawn towards the clothes - the ultimate centrepiece. To achieve this vision fully, the architects employed a similar range of materials to create the background with an effortless flow. For example, most walls, floors, and ceilings are finished with a coating of paint to smoothen the surface in order to eliminate construction drawings and avoid the complex elements associated with common wall skirting and moldings. This ensures that the principles of minimalism are adopted at its maximum level. While the design is simple and concise, the textures of the materials are natural with some imperfect details. For example, the wall’s curved shape features an imitation concrete finish to highlight the different representations of concrete’s texture in light and shadow, adding depth to the design. In addition, many elements are constructed with a similar material, including the smooth grey curves, rectangular tables and stools, and circular and triangular pendants that fuse together to create a subtle complexity. The design of the functional space reflects the concept of “interweave and separate”. The accommodating, classic office area is interspersed with the display space, with the walls featuring a variety of textures and forms to allow designers to choose from a range of different shooting backgrounds. The multifunctional workstations have been built to arrange cables and storage items to fit the design brief of seamless integration/separation and ensure that the area is kept tidy and productive. Simultaneously, the interior of the arc wall is specifically designed to provide more storage space for current and future stock, maximising space efficiency. In this simple, exquisite and diverse space, the designers of 3000 Apparel Company can effectively showcase a variety of colorful and diverse styles of clothing. With its clean construction and neutral palette, it is an ideal place for designers to exhibit their merchandise to customers in an appealing fashion.

WARM CURRENT

The project is situated in an artist village refurbished from an industrial complex. The company positions itself as a producer and promoter of the film in the cultural landscape of Beijing. The original buildings were constructed in red brick, a material that subtly revealed the distant industrial past of the district, creating a thick cultural je ne sais quoi to the studio spaces within the envelope. Contrary to what the brick envelope would suggest, Fabula Entertainment is a company comprised of energetic and highly motivated creative young generation, who dared to venture out of the box in search of a novel way of producing films. ‘Fabula Entertainment’, which is called ‘Warm Current’ in Chinese, suggested that any projects in the production reel will strike a sympathetic chord among its audience, recalling the warmth in their hearts. In order to accentuate the company’s concept of ‘warmth’, the design adopted a binary colour palette comprised of yellow and white, which respectively represents warm stream and ice cold snow caps. It was through juxtaposing the two extremities that the warmth of the stream could be emphasized and cherished. The delineation between walls, ceiling and floor was dissolved by the gestural yellow stroke that runs continuously across the three surfaces. Furniture like the reception counter, lighting fixtures were painted white to resemble floating snow caps, while the white on the ground resembles streams from a melting glacier that meander through space, guiding visitors from the entrance deep into the space through different functional rooms of the studio. The floor was screed and rendered with a glossy paint to further enhance the visitor’s impression of ‘walking upon a body of water’, which doubled the sense of spatial depth in a typical office of medium size. Apart from the above-mentioned effects the design had on the subconscious mind of the inhabitant, the design is also very practical in terms of providing sufficient visual contact and illuminations. The physical visual connection was one of the major drivers when designing the elements like mezzanine, stairs, raised floor, full height glazing and portholes. These elements provided nouveau vantage points and spatial relationship through the change of level and the articulation of thresholds. Privacy of the administrative staff was assured by the careful design of thresholds to provide an assured environment for key discussions. The South-facing administrative office, meeting room and changing room were separated from the North-facing open office area by a wall with a large porthole to facilitate supervision of the external staff from within the core of the office. Raised floor system created the level difference between functional zones which acts as a clear demarcation in an open office without the obstructions of walls. Apart from a visual connection, the design was also thoughtfully devised to enable adequate illumination for both the administrative and open office. The orientation of administrative office ensured an efficient illumination from the south, by inserting the porthole at the separation wall, part of the natural light will penetrate into the central region of the open office. The open office, which faced north, was now better illuminated by the newly designed full height glazing on the north façade, the inner surfaces were finished in glossy white to give a more spacious impression of the otherwise crowded and poorly lit open office space. By the same token, certain wall edges, e.g. the washrooms are filleted to give a smooth and gracious wash of light over the inner surface to eliminate the claustrophobic quality of a narrow corridor. In addition to natural illuminating devices, warm-hued lamps, are adopted at corridors and other circulation paths, when paired with the yellowish floor, the direct and reflected light gives a warm and passionate hue that provide the sense of security and cosiness for workers even during those freezing cold winter days in Beijing.

Jiahao Group Shanghai HQ Office

Serious, dull, busy and noisy is the most people’s conservative impression of office space. However, the Jiahao group headquarters office, located in Longwu Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai, may be able to change your consistent impression. Jiahao group is not only a leader in China’s wedding industry, but also a young creative enterprise. At the beginning of designing its headquarters, the design team takes such an idea as “all staff can find a sense of happiness as looking forward to getting married”. So,how to realize this sense of happiness has become the our goal. The entrance is a around 20 meters long “time tunnel”, decorated by black mirrored stainless steel and entire wall of vertical green, which will enable everyone walking inside the tunnel to feel excited as if they are going to perform on stage. Once you get in, an empty pure white photic atrium is first into your eyes, where we call the “church”, decorated with the golden staircase enables you to feel a sense of invisible sacredness. By each of the corridors’ windows towards the atrium, people can stay, overlook, or sit down on the sofa to have a rest or deep thought. On the contrast, both sides of it are dark leisure space, which brings you the feeling as comfortable as a bar. Besides, four floors of office space are all decorated by different vivid colors to present different departments’ mood. The warehouse was built in 1966, which was first used by Shanghai Dongfeng Timber Factory. Due to the serious lack of original drawings and interior of building was renovated many times, its structure system was complicated. The whole building was originally a combination of three independent buildings from north to south, which are the four-story plant on the north, the three-story plant with gable and hip roof in the middle and the four-story annex on the south. The different original functions of the three old buildings resulted in differences in story height, which posed great challenges for design of space and floors to avoid these deficiencies as a whole office building. The designers have also put ideas on the bathroom that is easily ignored. Color lump with high purity and large areas of white tiles has been used to create a very bright dreaming atmosphere. The combination of grey and black mosaic and the ornament of brass add a sense of stylish elegance to such a space. Even the brass washing tank is customized for this space. The light emitted from the white globular bulbs on the walls and ceiling, instead of the harsh light of the ordinary spotlights, add a sense of softness and happiness to the whole space. The whole design is trying to change the traditional way of work and create a new and joyful work environment. According to the site conditions and to reflect the enterprise culture and the care of the staff, all departments have the best lighting, ventilation and vision condition. The workstation area is arranged by the window. Other functional blocks, such as negotiation area, small conference rooms, print room and telephone kiosks, are not arranged in position against the wall in a normal way, but being arranged in the middle of the large space, which is intended to divide the whole space according to these auxiliary functions to eliminate the lack of privacy in open office and achieve the combination of static and dynamic working environment.

THYSSENKRUPP GSS OFFICE

오래된 건물과 뒤에 자리한 창고를 개조해 인더스트리얼풍 사무 공간으로 탈바꿈한 이곳은 독일의 유명 철강업체 ThyssenKrupp(티센크루프)의 GSS(Global Shared Service)부문 오피스다. 번화한 브라질 Sertório Avenue에 위치하고 있는 오피스는 약 100여 명의 직원이 사용하고 있으며, 최대 235명을 수용할 수 있도록 넓게 설계되었다. 가장 먼저, 2층짜리 건물과 창고 사이에 있던 기존 구조물을 철거하고 두 개의 건물을 하나로 연결했다. 이때 입구를 유동인구가 많은 큰 길이 아닌 건물의 옆쪽으로 이동해 일에 더욱 집중할 수 있는 조용한 업무 환경을 조성했다. 외부의 스틸 구조를 그대로 내부에 가져와 조금은 거칠고 차가운 느낌이 드는 건물은 독특한 구조를 취하고 있다. 사무 공간을 넓게 쓰기 위해 금속 구조물을 만들어 1층과 2층을 연결했고, 두 개 층에 모두 워크스테이션 공간을 조성했다. 1층은 회의실, 로비, 관리실, 직원들을 위한 주방, 다목적 홀 등이 마련되어 있어 효율적인 업무가 가능하며, 광장처럼 넓은 메인 공간과 내부가 보이는 회의실 등으로 원활한 소통을 지향했다. 차가운 요소가 많이 사용되어 자칫 무거운 분위기를 띨 수 있는 내부에 활기차고 밝은 분위기를 더하기 위해 여러 가지 인테리어 요소들을 적용했다. 특히, 집중을 위해 다른 공간과 분리가 필요했던 회의실에색유리를 사용해 기존 건물에는 없던 화사한 색감을 더했다. 빨강, 파랑, 노랑 등 다양한 색을 적용해 역동적이고 화려한 공간으로 완성했다. 또한, 공간 곳곳에 기하학적인 패턴과 화려한 페인팅, 공간을 상징하는 귀여운 아이콘 등으로 창의적이고 활기찬 분위기를 연출했다. 1층을 한눈에 내려다볼 수 있는 곳이자 천장 조명과 가까운 2층은 기존의 검은색 철강 구조를 최대한으로 활용했다. 화사한 느낌을 더했던 1층보다 절제된 느낌이 강하며, 재무와 회계, 부동산 등 중요한 업무를 맡는 사무실인 만큼 조용하고 독립적인 공간으로 만들고자 했다. 2층에는 업무 공간 이외에도 편하게 휴식을 취할 수 있는 휴게실이 마련되어 있는데, 이는 효율적인 업무를 위해 언제든 이용할 수 있다. Located in the busy Sertório Avenue the site was already occupied by a two story building on it’s front and a storage warehouse on the back of the lot. This was the site chosen by the thyssenkrupp company to establish its GSS division – Global Shared Services – in Latin America. This division, wich has offices in cities such as Essen and Bochum in Germany, Gdanks in Poland and Thane in India, aims to standardize and efficiently run administrative functions worldwide in finance and accounting, human resources, IT and real estate management. With occupation planned in three different phases, the building, wich employs today around 100 employees, will be able to absorb up to 235 people. For this, a retrofit design became necessary. After the initial data survey of the buildings, it was proposed the demolition of the existing structure between the two largest volumes. This allowed the creation of a direct connection between the two buildings through a new central construction, which now houses the new main entrance, relocated from the main avenue to the side street, more quiet and reserved. This new construction also houses the new restrooms, necessary due to the large increase in employees coming from the new use of the building, and allows an increase of technical area, sheltering the water boxes on its roof. As both existing buildings had great quality masonry walls it was decided not only to maintain but even to reinforce this characteristic by painting all the new interventions and the original structure in the color black. With the existing floor of the warehouse in reinforced concrete, the passage of internal infrastructure would be difficult to execute, so advantage was taken in the necessary leveling to elevate the ground floor by 10cm, allowing the passage of infrastructure throughout the entire pavement. In addition to the workstations the ground floor has closed meeting rooms, informal meeting tables, kitchen, technical areas and a large multipurpose space in the center of the warehouse, available for special and leisure activities.

LANCE OFFICE

From the playground of Google Office to the botanical garden of Amazon and to the home button of Apple's Earth, everyone is not willing to be traditional, let you feel free. When the office space that you are interested in suddenly flashes on our screen, in addition to envy them for daring to do what they want to do and being in the scene, you will hate yourself for being so poor in reality! Does poverty limit our imagination? When the Lance team commissioned us to design the office space of the company’s new site, at the similar age and with the consistent team culture and the same way of life and work, almost at the beginning of the same time, we firmly established the view: “We want to create a beautiful Office space, not boring working space.” It implicated that “Although the project budget is not high, customers have high expectation.” Of course, this must be a joke. If imagination can be so easily restricted by poverty, will inventors and artists become patents of the rich people? In this era of explosive information, we can see or know that there are some interesting spaces in this world. However, in the dense urban buildings, we have rarely heard of it around us. On the morning of every working day, it is hard to imagine what kind of work place will people rush to from the subway station, and from what kind of place do they come, tired. After the design direction was clarified, the longawaited Bali Hubud holiday office project quickly inspired the design team. What kind of creation can make people feel the space of office rather than working? How can we create a holiday-like work mood in the reinforced concrete forest? How can we surprise this group of young and interesting dynamic group of office workers? A lmost every creation comes from this kind of self-reporting. After we get some positive answers, a series of thoughts such as space construction, material language, and interesting topics are organized under reasonable logical reasoning. The layered floor makes the plants appear to grow from the ground, not in the pots. Plywood, as the theme material, has become the most unexpected props of this space theater whether in the cost, progress or special texture effects, although this is a material that designers have always ignored. The leaves of the characteristic fruits and plants of Southeast Asia, a tourist resort, are hand-painted in the space. When the plants breathe, the pristine materials and the interesting elements are intertwined, and we seem to hear the waves beat the beach music, as if we are seeing the joy of the jungle, taste the taste of tropical fruits and feel the coolness of broadleaf. Hubud touched us because we never thought that we can enjoy working at Bali in addition to enjoying the holidays there. The intent of creating Lance Office is that you have never imagined that in the reinforced concrete city, in addition to the boring step-by-step and day-to-day work in the office building, there are people who are pleasant, distant and interesting.

U-CUBE GUANGMING CO-WORKING SPACE

Located in the heart of Jiading new area, along with Poly Opera House and Jiading Library, U-CUBE Guangming is the most dynamic place in Shanghai. Young companies are gathering here, hoping to find their success in the commercial jungle. CROX is inspired by those courageous entrepreneur, designing U-CUBE Guangming as a symbiotic working zone full of optimism, freedom and flexibility for young adventurers who can share both working and life here. C.R. Lin, the director of CROX, believes that those who are willing to challenge themselves and could not stop the entrepreneurship are exactly the adventurers who are exploring an unknown forest. This exploration enriches their life. The concept of interior design is Forest. There is a continuous wooden wall implanted in the public space, which is undulating as a smooth and natural wave. People walk around the space as if they walk around a live forest. The environment CROX creating also invisibly encourages entrepreneurs who are brave to take risks and face unknown challenges. The fluctuating forest planted in this rectangle space is main visual guideline, from entrance along the corridor to the restaurant then the leisure room, all the way combining top space with soundings, closing as a form of a irregular ring. Small areas of different functions are connected by the continuous wooden wall, breaking the old pattern of cubicles in traditional offices. Different areas overlapping with each other blur the boundaries, suggesting that young people from different fields can freely communicate, enhancing the community function of the space. The reception of U-CUBE Guangming is designed as a flowing curved body. The artistic light-sensitive ceilings is made up by PC panels can reflect different images and matching unique rhythm of wooden wall. With unadorned terrazzo and black mirrors, the whole space is dynamic but having stable stretch. Overall CROX creates a relaxed environment full of freedom and flexibility. This area serves as a leisure space for dining, coffee, and casual meetings. It can also be converted into a place for a variety of social activities, bringing young adventurers together as a communication platform. The power of sharing is highly liberalized here. In Oriental culture, sharing is a very intimate thing, and the meaning of business in Chinese is something achieved by close friends who sharing their minds. CROX’s design highlights space enclosed or cut by different curves, which integrated internal and external world, becoming a both private and open space in line with Chinese. Culture of sharing. Several halfopened conference units are embedded in the public area to meet the needs of various types of meetings. Not only the distinctive phone booth but also the communication units guarantee the independence of either single or double users, in the meantime, it doesn’t keep them from outside world completely. Five communication units symbolizing U-CUBE letters also emphasizes U-CUBE brand and maximizes space usage. The undulating curves create a extending scenery inside the space, and provide a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere for people who didn't know each other before. Different combinations of furniture make up different conversation areas. These flexible and varied sections allow the functionality of this space to be fully exploited, paving the way for the future of adventurers in this forest.

‘Heavenly Match’-Matchmaking and Dating Agency

Founded in 2000, ‘Heavenly Match’ is a match-making/dating agency which offers an exclusive and confidential service to find partners for their discerning members in Taiwan. It provides ongoing date coaching and matchmaking support between the dates that they send you on. The project, designed by David Ho Design Studio, is ‘Heavenly Match’ Taipei club and office. It provides a place for men and women to meet for the first time and also serves as office for staff. People who come here want to find their other half here. Just like finding their own life barcode, when they meet Mr/Miss Right, they’ll ‘scan’ each other and then “Beep”! It’s a match! Inspired by digital barcodes, the design concept integrated colors with lighting. The striped color bars are applied to the walls, windows, and the logo wall of the entrance. A total of four interview hubs, each 1.7 meters wide, 2.1 meters high and 70 centimeters deep are perfect for two people to sit and talk face-to-face. Walnut veneer dominates the exterior of the hubs, and the interior is upholstered with Taiwan-sourced fabrics. By using high-quality, semi-transparent acrylic, the trapezoidal half height doors on the hub maintain the users’ privacy. Romantic and mysterious are two words which often appear in a love story. Designer David Ho developed the color of romance and mystery, and used them as the highlights of the club space to encourage personal interactions. Romantic pink is used in the entrance, office, and reception room, and the mysterious fluorescent color is used in the four interview hubs. The beginning of love is often blurry and unclear, so the semi-translucent acrylic and glass film are used in the partition wall to compare to the beautiful confusion of love. The lighting system was designed exclusively for the club, with programmable light to ensure a spectacular love story at night. Cupid wall lamps and a pair of parrot chandeliers are concept-related shapes with indirect lighting to create a romantic atmosphere, and also to highlight the company’s branding of itself, which David reflected in the design space.

OSOTSPA P3 BUILDING

클라이언트인 OSOTSPA는 얼마 전 창사 125주년을 맞이한 태국의 생활용품, 화장품 기업이다. 이들은 오늘날까지 영업하는 태국 최고(最古)의 기업이기도 하며, 오랜 세월 태국 내수시장 및 국제시장에 에너지 드링크 M-150을 선보여온 대중적인 기업이기도 하다. Supermachine Studio는 OSOTSPA로부터 새로운 업무공간을 디자인해줄 것을 요청 받았고, 이들이 완성한 P3 Building은 근무 환경을 극대화시키면서 효율적으로 공간을 활용할 수 있는 오피스 인테리어 디자인을 보여준다. P3 Building은 업체의 새로운 근로 환경을 위한 첫 번째 프로젝트였고, 디자이너는 6층에서 8층까지 구매부서, I.T.부서, 회계부서 및 직원 교육 시설 등이 위치한 6,500제곱미터의 공간을 효율적인 오피스로 바꿔야 했다. 오피스에서 가장 먼저 눈에 띄는 것은 각각 다른 규모의 미팅 룸이다. 대형 기업인만큼 여러 부서가 존재하며, 부서별, 팀별 용도에 따라 투명한 유리 벽으로 구성한 미팅 룸을 효율적으로 활용할 수 있다. 여러 공간들은 대리석, 조적, 원목 합판, 인공잔디 등 브랜드의 이미지를 담은 편안하고 자연 친화적인 요소들로 꾸며졌다. 사무공간은 최대한 ‘오픈’되고 ‘공유 가능’해야 한다는 키워드를 염두에 두고 디자인됐다. 임원급들을 위한 별도의 공간을 두는 것은 최대한 자제했으며, 이런 개인 사무실은 모두 통 유리 벽체를 통해 내부가 들여다 보이는 구조다. 모든 직원들은 오픈된 근무 환경에서 협업을 이루거나 유연한 소통을 이룰 수 있으며, 이러한 업무 환경은 곧 기업의 생산성에 기여한다. 편안한 파스텔 톤의 소품 활용이나 천장에 매립한 간접조명은 자칫 경직될 수 있는 업무 분위기를 유연하게 이완시켜준다. 밀도 높은 업무를 위해 사무공간의 테이블마다 팬던트 조명을 설치했다. 사무공간을 둘러싸고 있는 여러 유닛은 유리벽 소재로 오픈된 형태이기 때문에 실내 어느 곳에서도 외부의 자연광을 충분히 즐길 수 있다. P3 Building의 양쪽 사이드에는 휴식을 취할 수 있는 카페테리아나 스낵 라운지 등, 편의시설 또한 충실히 갖춰져 있다. OSOTSPA has just celebrated its 125th anniversary not very long ago. It is one of Thailand’s oldest private companies operating to date. The company has started from making traditional medicines which were so popular for Thais and grown into a well-known company that produced hundreds of popular consumer products including NO.1 energy drink in Thailand, M-150. For the last few years, the company undergoes some big plans to adapt and improve their ways of working, including building many square meters of the new workspace as well as redesigning the existing ones in their headquarter campus, in Ramkamhang, Bangkok. Building P3 is the first one in the series that they would like to implement the new working environment on. The 6,500m2 workspace spanning over 3 floors (6th-8th) of the newly built building houses supporting departments like purchasing, I.T., accounting and training facilities. The work-space is designed to be as “opened” and “Sharable” as possible. There are minimum numbers of rooms given to only high-rank directors (and those rooms are to be as transparent as possible.) Everyone is arranged into open working environment to promote collaborations among each other. Different sizes of meeting rooms and generic facilities have become more generic and placed in the central part of the floor area for employees from different departments to share more freely. While hundreds of opened working units are placed surrounding them so that workspace can enjoy natural light coming in from both side of the building. In every wing of the building, there is a small cafe-like break area for staff to have snacks and chit-chat.

State Office de Knoop

네덜란드 Utrecht의 Knoopkazerne는 1989년부터 수십 년간 네덜란드 육군 본부로 사용되다가 2016년부터 대대적인 공사를 거쳐 최근 새로운 모습으로 준공됐다. 건물은 각각 높이가 달라 입체적인 매스감을 자랑하는 볼륨과 과감한 전면 유리 벽체 등이 아름다운 자태로 서 있다. cepezed는 건물의 리뉴얼 과정에서 부분적인 철거, 신축/확장 작업 등으로 생동감 있고 투명한 이미지를 연출했다. 실내 공간은 온전한 하나의 건물이라는 느낌을 자아내기 위해 내부의 많은 벽체를 유리로 구성하거나 철거했다. 덕분에 건물 내부는 일조량과 공기 순환의 이점을 포함, 여러 가지 측면에서 좀 더 개방적이고 통일된 듯한 느낌을 얻었다. 전면 유리 벽체가 주는 장점과 더불어 기존 건물의 구조에 맞게 별도로 제작한 하이브리드형 천장 시스템은 천고를 낮추지 않아도 각 층에 충분한 밝기의 조명을 제공한다. 건물은 다양한 업무 형태와 미팅의 규모를 충족하기 위해 유기적인 활용이 가능한 공간들로 이루어져있다. 휴게공간은 입주 근로자와 방문자의 편의를 위해 접근성이 좋은 곳에 위치했다. 설계 당시 건물의 지속 가능성을 중요하게 여겨 기존 건물의 최적화된 재활용, 고도의 유연성 등을 화두로 설계되었다. 기존 사용처가 육군 본부였던 만큼, 건물은 전에는 좀 더 무거운 느낌과 보안상의 이유로 폐쇄적인 이미지가 강했다. 그러나 cepezed의 작업을 거치며 다양한 사용자의 유연한 활용, 방문 주민의 접근을 적극 환영하는 열린 공간으로 재탄생했다. 새 건물과 기존의 건물은 투명한 벽체로 조성된 아트리움과 엘리베이터, 계단실로 연결되어 있다. 내부의 어느 장소에서든 시선을 가로막는 요소들을 가급적 배제했다. 때문에 건물에 들어서는 주민들이나 사용자들은 건물의 어디에서도 쾌적한 뷰를 누릴 수 있다. 유리 벽체로 구성한 별도의 오피스에는 각 부처가 입주했는데, 이는 프로젝트가 정부기관의 건물이라는 점에서 주민들의 편의를 위해 끊임없이 노력하는 각 처의 이미지와 청렴함을 드러내는 장치로 작용한다. The Knoopkazerne in the center of Utrecht dates from 1989 and served for decades as headquarters for the Royal Netherlands Army. The building has now been radically transformed into a combined office and meeting center for the national government. Commissioned by the consortium R Creators with Strukton, Ballast Nedam and Facilicom, cepezed produced the architectural design. Fokkema & Partners Architects was involved for the interior design and Rijnboutt for the urban design component. The original complex was characterized by a pronounced multitude of volumes with varying heights and floor dimensions as well as meandering façades with a smoke glass sun-blind. In the redevelopment designed by cepezed, drastic changes have been combined with partial demolition, new-build expansion and a completely new urban embedding over multiple height levels. A lively, transparent and doubleheight plinth will include general functions such as the entrance zone, a café, restaurant and landing work places. The existing construction of twelve storeys houses all office functions, with the characteristic octagonal concrete columns being left in sight. Removal of the many inner walls has resulted in more light, air, openness and transparency.

1951년, 노캐스터를 시작으로 1952년 텔레캐스터, 1954년에는 스트라토캐스터를 출시하며 현재까지도 다양한 제품을 선보이고 있는 펜더(Fender)는 훌륭한 사운드와 시대에 뒤떨어지지 않으면서도 개성 있는 디자인으로 꾸준한 사랑을 받고 있는 기타 브랜드다. 전 세계 음악 산업을 이끌어 왔다 해도 과언이 아닌 펜더(Fender)는 많은 이들에게 존경받는 기타 문화의 아이콘이다. 그 명성에 걸맞도록 기존 애리조나주(Arizona)에서 음악 산업이 번성하는 진원지인 캘리포니아로 새로이 본사를 이전하겠다는 계획을 꾸렸고, 그중 캘리포니아의 중심이자 음악 분야의 전문가와 음악 애호가가 가득한 LA 할리우드에 사무실 공간을 조성했다. 로스앤젤레스의 유명한 선셋대로(Sunset Boulevard)를 따라 설계한 새로운 사무실은 브랜드 펜더(Fender)의 아이덴티티가 잘 드러난 공간이다. 사무실은 총 2개의 건물로 구성되어 있는데, 메인 건물은 유리로 된 중층 건물로 약 690평에 이르며 두 번째 건물은 방갈로 형태로 약 240평의 규모를 자랑한다.내부에는 거대한 규모만큼이나 직원들의 업무 효율과 창의적인 아이디어 창출을 위한 다채로운 공간들이 마련되어 있다. 라운지와 오픈형 사무 공간, 회의실, 집무실 , 커피바, 보드룸, 휴게실 등으로 구성되어 있으며, 공간 곳곳에는 펜더(Fender) 제품을 배치해 브랜드 아이덴티티를 최대한 담아내려 노력했다. ▲ 사무실 내부 ▲회의실 내부에는 트렌디하고 모던한 브랜드의 이미지를 표현해낸 여러 인테리어 요소들이 눈에 띈다. 특히, 인더스트리얼 풍의 노출 천장과 펜던트형 조명, 그리고 상반된 느낌을 풍기는 원목 가구의 조화가 유니크하다. 바닥은 내구성이 보장되면서도 입체적인 느낌을 주는 에폭시로 마감해 먼지가 적고 내수성이 좋은, 깔끔한 사무실 공간을 완성했다. 펜더(Fender) HQ의 컬러 팔레트는 크게 무채색과 어두운 목재 컬러로 차분하면서도 친숙한 느낌을 준다. 많은 음악인들이 펜더(Fender)를 찾고, 이곳에서 영감을 얻길 바라는 마음과 직원들의 편안한 업무 환경 조성을 위한 디자이너의 의도다. 전체 공간은 기다란 복도를 기준으로 양옆에 여러 공간들이 나열되듯 배치돼 있는데, 그중 회의실이 눈에 띈다. 풍부한 아이디어와 브레인스토밍을 위한 회의실은 자유로운 기업 문화를 대변하듯 유리 벽으로 설계되어 언제든 서로 소통하며 의견을 나눌 수 있도록 했다. 공용 업무 공간 이외에도 집무실과 같은 개인 공간, 완벽한 방음 시설을 자랑하는 음악실, 외부의 시선과 차단된 휴게실 등이 준비되어 있는데, 이곳에서는 다른 사람들의 관심이나 참견 없이 프라이빗한 시간을 보낼 수 있다. 사무실을 구성하는 모든 공간은 전체 메인 컨셉과 맞게 그레이톤과 심플한 라인의 조명으로 꾸며졌으며, 공간마다 특색을 살리기 위해 패브릭 가구나 카펫, 콘크리트 등 다양한 소재를 활용했다. 각 공간을 잇는 기다란 복도에는 펜더(Fender)의 CEO가 모아온 기타가 진열되어 있어 특별한 기타 컬렉션을 구경하는 재미까지 더했다. ▲FENDER CEO의 기타 컬렉션 펜더(Fender)가 자랑하는 중층 건물의 메인 오피스 공간은 탁 트인 구조와 높은 천장, 자연과 교류하는 친환경성을 특징으로 한다. 중층에서 블랙 스틸 계단을 따라 내려오면 만나볼 수 있는 이 공간은 중층 높이까지 천장을 터 더욱 웅장한 공간감을 가지며, 다른 공간과는 차별화되도록 목조 트러스 천장 구조를 취하고 있다. 또한, 한쪽 벽면에 천장부터 바닥까지 이어지는 유리창은 자연과 소통할 수 있는 연결 창구로 기능한다. 또 다른 벽에는 기타 바디 스케치와 함께 마치 악보를 보듯 유려한 라인으로 기타를 진열해 브랜드를 직접적으로 상징함과 동시에 색다른 재미를 더했다. Fender partnered with Rapt Studio to create a new office along Los Angeles' famed Sunset Boulevard at Columbia Square. As a bold presence in Hollywood, the new space fuses with the city’s creative energy to engage future generations of musicians. Built to engage professionals and music enthusiasts alike, Fender’s newest home reflects the company’s commitment to accompanying artist on their musical journey. Surrounded by celebrated music icons like the Palladium, Fonda Theatre and Amoeba Records, the company’s new office embraces the vibrant music scene of Los Angeles and places instruments close at hand for employees and visitors alike. Home to executive, creative, marketing, product, and digital teams, the office is made of two unique spaces: two floors of a mid-rise office building and an adjacent 8,600-square-foot structure referred to as the “Bungalow.” Though separate, both spaces emphasize Fender’s desire to be part of their new Hollywood home and create an overall collaborative environment between departments. The reception area is on the ground-level, and the public is welcome to walk in and explore a large installation and feature wall. Throughout both spaces, large windows allow views in to the design zones and music lounges. The design of the space was influenced by the sleek contours, niche colors, and finely tuned hardware of Fender guitars. It was critical that the space support all of Fender’s business objectives, from their design process to technologydriven efforts like e-commerce, and app development.

Secret Mystery: ‘September Forest’ Sales Office in Nanjing

This housing property sales center is in the new city of Nanjing. The old Nanyue Mountain is an exclusive villa district surrounded by richly natural landscape. The center situates at the east side of the property with three levels. Working in concert with the conceptual lifestyle of residing within mountains and waters, the interior design stresses the importance of the seamless combination of space and God-made environment while echoing the strategic marketing orientation. Visitors are led into it by the entrance at the southeast through plenty of two-by-four marble staircases. The pathway appears narrow and winding, geometrically decorated by high and thick metallic barriers on both sides. Faint internal views and the murmur of the spring harp by people. Along the path, there presents the sales office at the main gate. Two large square waterscapes symmetrically are placed at the right front door. The sense of ritual arises when entering it. The hallway is enclosed partially by wired glasses and copper plates, emerging long and narrow rectangle extending to the right ending with the reception desk. Visitors see the property display area as moving through the hallway. Sales and display areas are on the first floor. For the layout of this level, the architect attempted to abstract the element of PAVILION from classic Chinese garden and implant the concrete pavilions with a contemporary implication in larger volumes: two business areas and model display. The outdoor scenery and the display area were precisely at the perpendicular axis formed by those pavilions concerning optical sight and pedestrian flow. The carefully planned landscape one of the critical, significant attractions to the center. Referring Four Unique essences: forest, spring, stone and cavity, every space can experience different themes. The architect unconventionally arranged two business areas in the big space sealed by the floor-to-ceiling window at the side adjacent to the landscape with sufficient sun lighting. In the meantime, the property model was put in the shorter space to strengthen the tension of interior. Wired glasses were used by a group of screens as well to divide different areas. Hopefully, the architect adopted the modern and traditional, lightsome and obscure element to reproduce spatial order and reform interior layout. Contract area dominates in the second floor. The entrance keeps hidden in a series of wood finishes, and there is a stunning pine tree bonsai jumps into eyes when getting access to it. The ground of the tree was covered by pebbles, complementing the terrace on the third floor. The glass window in the contract room is enclosed by white and physical paper sliding door. Intense daylight becomes gentle through the transparent fabric. 金基九月森林位于南京江北新区,老山南麓,是一处坐拥丰富自然景观的高档别墅区,遗世独立大隐于市。开发方钟情于演绎传统人文元素为当代空间观念的名谷设计,诚邀其团队操盘销售中心的设计。 入口位于销售中心的东南面,需经过几级窄窄的大理石石阶向内行进,其间小径窄而曲折,透过侧边高而厚重的金属栅栏,可以隐约看到内部的景象,并听闻潺潺水声。穿过小径后,整个销售中心正门便现于眼前。这段先有曲径通幽之妙,后有豁然开朗之感的“门户玄关”确是让人惊喜。 售楼中心共分3层,销售、展示和部分办公之外的功能作为会所以全面对业主开放。与项目“倡导城居而隐于山水的生活方式”理念相契合,在室内部分设计师亦强调了空间与周边自然环境的融合,并尝试呼应整个楼盘的风格定位。 巨大的方形水景,呈对称形制设于销售中心正门前,倒影建筑和园林,镜像延长表皮的线条,虚实之间演绎了建筑的沉静,而人行其间,礼秩之道带来的仪式感油然而生。 门厅由夹绢玻璃和铜板制作的屏风半围合,呈狭长的矩形,尽头设有服务台,引导客人穿过门厅,进入展示空间。 在细节设计上,设计师注意多重质感的交织,半透明的绢以薄雾状交错在古铜色框架中,传达一种含蓄。前台的古铜和白石材以灯带洗出利落的线脚,表现一种明晰。过渡性的材质是水晶玻璃砖做成的灯具,含蓄的磨砂感撞上洗练的轮廓,格外有趣。 一层为主要的销售和展示空间。布局上,设计师将古典园林中的“亭”元素进行抽象化的处理。“亭”的概念来自于“停”字,用作休憩空间,设计师希望在空间中,人们能够停留并感受项目,放松身心体悟生活。 两个“亭”空间以现代意义穿插入大空间内,自然分理出3个区间:2个洽谈区,以及沙盘展示区。而户外景观和沙盘展示区也恰好地被布置于“亭子”的垂直轴线上,实现了视线与动线的双重贯通。 景观是该楼盘吸引客源的重要因素之一,通过老山四绝:林、泉、石、洞,为各个区域分别赋予了不同主题。设计师将挑空部分,规划为两处洽谈区,倚靠着落地玻璃,将户外的山林景观纳入室内,并获得了良好的采光,正所谓:园中布景,皆是眼前风景。 高敞的调控区域,让呼吸也变得顺畅,心情开阔。直射光被外檐格扇隔绝成稀薄的光影,流转在墙面上,几何纹理演绎成动态的图案,落在白壁上,形成光的画作。 挑空区沉浸在“白”的空间中,清奇的龙骨隐蔽在窗扇中,通过光的洗涤,构筑出圣洁的穹窿。黑色吊灯垂挂下来,周到地照顾着地面展示区空间。 模型展示以素色为主,透过照明找出轮廓。地台设计别具匠心,仿佛一尊礼地的玉琮,只是黄玉为玻璃替代,抽离表面,只剩下通透的灵气。 格子窗疏密的肌理罗织出体量变化,大框架进入开敞空间,小框架安排在低空区。其内在暗含取传统建筑设计思想的精华:大料为为梁柱檩椽,小料为家具器玩,都以榫卯构筑,基因相同,体例大小多变。 在一层空间中,除了门厅外,洽谈区均次采用了夹绢玻璃的屏风作为空间区隔,设计师希望采用这一当代而又传统,轻盈而又隐晦的元素来重新建立空间秩序,以此梳理室内视觉语汇。 二层主要功能为签约室。入口隐藏于走廊的一系列木饰面中,推门进入首先进入视线的是一处大型的松树盆景,树下以白石子覆盖,与三楼露台处以“石”为元素的一处景观相呼应,有日式枯山水的造园意味。 签约室内部设计师紧扣自然景观和文脉传承。长立面的玻璃窗位置,被白色和纸材质的移门所以覆盖,带给人们更为充满禅味和遗世独立的精神意味。强烈的日光透过和纸稀释柔和,“时光不骄不躁,流年不急不缓,阳光不灼不黯”,清闲自在。源于自然的木、纸等元素,将诗与远方融于日常,现代宅院的隐逸和超然翩然浮现,再一次证明现代主义的包容性和多元性。

VANS Global Headquarters

스트리트 웨어 브랜드이자 글로벌 스케이트보드 대표주자 반스(Vans)의 본사는 미국 California 주 서남부 코스타메사(Costa Mesa)에 위치하고 있다. 500명 이상의 직원을 수용하는 이곳은 트렌디한 스트릿 컬쳐에 기반을 둔 브랜드답게 사무 공간 역시 젊고 감각적으로 꾸며졌다. 반스(Vans)를 상징하는 블랙&화이트 격자무늬가 눈에 띄는 외관은 유리가 사용되어 청명한 하늘을 그대로 비추며, 유쾌하고 세련된 느낌을 풍긴다. 디자인 스튜디오는 브랜드가 추구하는 Art, Music, Action Sports, Street Culture and Fashion을 오피스에 담기 위해 노력했다. 독창적인 자기표현과 ‘Off the Wall’ 문화를 주제로 하는 Vans Global Headquarters는 전체적으로 자유분방하고 일상을 즐길 수 있는 편안한 분위기를 추구한다. 가장 독특한 점은 건물 내부에서도 스케이트보드를 탈 수 있다는 것이다. 본사는 뉴 포트 비치 내륙에 자리하고 있는데, 이 지역에서는 서핑과 스케이트를 타는 것이 매우 인기라고 한다. 반스(Vans)는 새로운 사무실을 건축하며 지역의 문화를 반영하기 위해 스케이트보드를 탈 수 있는 공간을 구성하고, 건물 내에서도 자유롭게 탈 수 있도록 계획했다. 활동적이고 자유로운 공간 외에도 흥미롭고 다채로운 공간들이 마련되어 있다. ▲직원들이 자유롭게 사용하는 카페테리아 공간은 전체적으로 화이트와 그레이를 기초로 하고, 여기에 따뜻한 원목 컬러를 더해 방문하는 이들을 환영하는 듯 환한 분위기를 풍긴다. 특히, 실내외를 연결하는 안뜰의 붉은빛 계단은 여러 공간이 독특하면서도 유기적으로 이어져 있다는 것을 상징한다. 5,100여 평 이상의 넓은 공간은 직원들의 업무 효율을 증진시키면서도, 브랜드의 성장을 도모하고 발전시킨다. 브랜드의 쾌활하고 밝은 이미지에 걸맞은 톡톡 튀는 공간들은 미니멀하면서도 유기적으로 연결되어 있다. 디자이너는 직원들이 사무실을 집과 같이 편안하게 느끼길 원했고, 직원 설문조사를 통해 체육관, 커피, Wi-Fi를 ‘편안한 오피스’ 조성에 대한 중심 키워드로 선정했다. 공간을 잇는 복도와 몇몇 공간에는 화려한 그래피티가 눈길을 사로잡는다. 반스(Vans)가 스트릿 컬쳐에 기반을 둔 만큼 다양한 종류의 거리 예술을 사무실 내부에도 적용하고자 한 디자이너의 의도가 담겨있다. 디자인 스튜디오는 이곳에 머무는 이들의 편의를 위해 휘트니스 센터와 휴게실, 바비큐 공간, 전문 바리스타가 있는 카페, 도서관 등 다양한 공간을 계획했다. 또한, 창의적이고 개방적인 분위기를 지향하는 회의실과 부스 형태의 업무 공간 등 다양한 방식의 업무 공간을 마련해 직원의 니즈에 맞게 새로운 아이디어를 창출할 수 있는 환경을 조성했다. 반스(Vans)의 Headquarter답게 공간 곳곳에는 브랜드의 신제품과 기존 제품, 패브릭 샘플들을 보관하는 장소가 마련되어 있다. 이런 보관 겸 디스플레이 공간은 수납과 정리를 키워드로 최대한 정돈되고 깔끔하게 연출했다. 반항적 이미지와 강렬한 개성의 Vans Global Headquarters는 컬렉션 및 제품 출시를 위한 5개의 쇼룸과 상점 등 방문객을 위한 공간까지 갖추고 있으며, 스케이트보드와 그래피티 등을 유행시킨 브랜드답게 모든 공간이 활기차고 역동적이다. 개인 업무 공간, 운동선수의 이름을 딴 회의실, 휴게실, 음악감상실 등 최상의 업무 효율을 위한 공간들로 구성된 Vans Global Headquarters는 트렌디한 스트릿 감각을 중요시하는 브랜드 아이덴티티를 모든 공간에서 표현하고 있다. ▲복도를 화려하게 수놓은그래피티 Vans is a state of mind. Designed with workspaces for creative self-expression and ‘Off the Wall’ culture, the headquarters was made to embody the company’s evolution. As Vans’ longstanding design partner, Rapt Studio created the office to celebrate the four pillars of the Vans brand—Art, Music, Action Sports, and Street Culture and Fashion. Drawing upon 50 years of youth culture connectivity, the design rethinks how the Vans family comes together around work and play. After 51 years of moving across the heart of Southern California, Vans has settled into a new global headquarters in Costa Mesa. The new headquarters designed by Rapt Studio is LEED Platinum, the highest standard for sustainability, making it the most sustainable in all of Orange County. The 182,000 sq ft center houses 5 fully merchandised showrooms with upcoming collections, a retail mock store, and a working library. Located on a 14-acre site, the headquarters includes ample room for the Vans brand to grow and evolve. Bringing the underground to the mainstage, the office was organized around a central courtyard that connects interior offices to outdoor spaces, while an iconic Vans red staircase becomes the literal and figurative symbol of connection between the varied groups housed within. As such, it connects the first-floor café, with the secondfloor coffee area and the third-floor outdoor terrace BBQ. The design of the workplace supports a range of active work styles, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Concrete floors allow employees to skate from desks to meeting rooms. Designed to hold its own and make a mark, the Costa Mesa HQ represents Vans’ evolution from a West Coast skateboarding company to a global youth culture brand. Designed for expressive creators, the Costa Mesa HQ brings innovators and new perspectives together to shape the future of Vans.

Jin Xuanmin Studio

▲Exterior of Jin Xuanmin Studio The brand-new space renovated by the studio of Mr. Jin is absolutely an extraordinary combination of small space, broad view and extreme simplicity. The artful connection between zones and the mix-and-match, alternation and arrangement of blocks make the whole space look flexible and varied. Before renovation, it was a rectangular space of 12m×6m, with a storey height of 6m. Thanks to Jin’s “one into five” layering design, it has been changed into a space of 160 m2 with much higher use ratio. As a black steel staircase wriggle upward, five storeys appear in front of us. The “sky well” connects the spaces up and down, on the left and on the right just like a staircase. It also forms a transparent space. On the first floor, there is an open exhibition hall, a sunken meeting room, rest rooms and a blank door leading into a storage room right under the staircase. The sunken meeting room is 40cm lower than the floor surface, leaving enough height for each storey. Overall, the space adopts large areas of terrazzo and small areas of wood panels, keeping a balance between cold tone and warm tone. As climbing the staircase, you can see three office areas of different functions and one reception room formed by the staggered floors. Black, white and grey are used as the dominant tone, which is quite clear and simple. The wallpaper and decorative pictures inside the space are all original photography works of Mr. Jin. Most of them are building photos and properly highlight the style of the whole space; the strong color contrast in those pictures brings vitality to the space, which also echoes with the “new-old” contrast. The roof of the top storey retains its previous motley. All these are elements forming this space “full of artistic atmosphere”. Staggered zones, alternated blocks, upright patio and contrast between the new and the old all add unique artistic air to this space!

Max vision Office

▲入口外立面 Entrance exterior elevation Max Vision is a Belgian women and children’s garment brand. The Belgian male owner Jan settled in Ningbo as he like Chinese culture. The project is to design an office at a newly-built four-story house. Basement is only 1.9meter tall. The challenge of the project is to meet all office founctions in this residence limited scale building. For instance, how employees from different departments can work efficially;how to located reception, recruitment, meeting, discussion areas in this building. Moreover, how to bring exterior green enviroment into office legally to improve work enviroment. The owner also need a private child-parent space at 3rd floor which is isloted from work space. The solution to the problem lies in the problem. We visited client’s factory and office twice to invisigate their process flow include design, sampling, photography, sewing, ironing, quality test and shippment. We also measured their equipments and asked empoyee about their daily flows and observe their daily work behaviours. The first step was to renovate structure. We removed part of the slab beside entrance and installed a 8-meter display window. The purpose of display window is to use short storage basment as display also bring light to basement. The dramatic display window on the floor act as a signature of Max Vision. Models with in season garment were displayed at this window. Walking on the transparent runway, it is as if the models downstairs are constantly interaction. ▲车库打通变为开放办公 Garage becomes open office The second step was to renovate external wall. For the first floor, we opened big window as possible to bring sunlight and landscape into office. Also, we built two walls at different levels at the end of yard and the yard was enclosed by this view. Well designed water flow was place between walls, shallow pool provide habitat for birds. Water, warm lighting and low walls create a peaceful picture at night. The reason we built two “L” shaped wall separately was because enclosed wall not allowed due to property regulations. But we still want to have a definition and a certain sense of closure. Owner convinced the property company as two “L” shaped walls (the tallest one is 1.3 meter) can work as security partition. The third step of our project was to removed garage walls at first floor to make office a transparent space. Old staircase beside elevator was removed as it took up much space. An eyecatching spiral stair at center connected basement to third floor. Three departments also were divided by spiral stair. We hope that the elements that each project presents are related to the space itself. The material we use is not only for visual looks, but also with functions. So our challenge is that how to present the unique genes of the garment company in the existing space. Or whether space design can be as characteristic as weaving clothes, but at the same time solving problems within the range of budget acceptance. After much discussion and modeling, we decided to use 7000-meter long elastic lines to weave the entire office ceiling. At the same time, air condition pipes and electric wire are closed over by lines. As the layout of the wire looks randomly, works on site are hard to control. We calculated the rule of layout on computer and tested method of woven line both at office and on site. The finished lines at both first floor and second floor look geometry. Different colors overlap and form new colors. Owner couple need a private space for their family so that they can play with kid, read and meet friends after work. In the beginning of the project, we went to the owner's house to investigate and found a lot of functions that could not be realized there. We hope to achive that functions on the third floor. We built a loft to make better use of space as the highiest point of sloping roof is 4.5 meter. We designed both stair and a slide for the loft so their flows moves in cirlce. The combination of stair and slide is the best idea to let kid enjoy the space. There must be enough space to meet our plan. We removed a column between balcony and indoor, then we installed two big silding doors sideway so the square balcony cut into half. The length of the diagonal line is the opening of the largest view of the landscape. Furthemore, the height of the 1.3-meter wall is lowered to 1 meter to ensure its high security while viewing the distant view. Kid can even ride bicycle at this large free space. ▲隔层看露台 View from loft to balcony The ceiling structure is complicated so we build white painting suspended ceiling to cover up complicated lines and structure. Loft provide kid a place to play. We also opened skylight-window above loft to import airflow and light. The loft is the best place for owner to relax and watch stars with child.

Chang'an Construction Office and Zhusheng Lecture Hall

After 20 years of vicissitudes, Zhusheng Lecture Hall and Chang’an Construction Office, which situates in quiet lanes at Taizhong Art Museum, starts its new operation mode after being designed and renovated last year. Over the past two decades, Zhusheng, a public lecture hall promoting urban environmental and humanistic thinking and a comprehensive research space for the design and development of real estate, has accumulated the beautiful memories of many architects. Faced with the common expectations of the majority of practitioners in the architecture industry, how to create an open building that emphasizes less on appearance but particularly stresses the connotations of life? How to convey the magnificent, graceful and refreshing features by demonstrating the delicate manual texture and expression through the layered spatial constitution? All these have become the main design subjects in this project. At the compound two-story open space that promotes architectural and humanistic educational lectures as well as architectural design and development, the first floor is the public study and garden facing the urban streets with the low-profiled design and expression, and the second floor is a space for discussion such as humanistic lectures and internal office space. Therefore, we have particularly built a converting ladder and two guiding and ceremonial corridors at the second floor and roughly divided the space into four functional sections. The reception hall and book-reading space are arranged at the first floor facing the east as the intermediate entrance space of the entire building, the back yard west of the first floor and beside a south facing sunshine courtyard are for small art salons in life. On the second floor, the humanistic lecture and workshop are placed at the balcony beside an interesting urban gap. The superficial style of design and the development of external form are completely suppressed in this project. Not only so, we deliberately pay much attention to the environmental behaviors and psychology in the space. Let work production and discussion innovation be carried out in a smooth sense of pleasure. Therefore, the unity of life and work seems so harmonious and natural. If the design really belongs to the category of humanities, then the design should return to the real life, focus on the unity of the opposite reality, and let it go back to the moment!

Brain Embassy

폴란드 바르샤바에 위치한 Brain Embassy는 프리랜서나 스타트업 등 여러 기업 또는 브랜드가 함께 사용할 수 있는 공유 오피스다. 공간은 신경세포인 ‘시냅스’를 모티브로 했다. 인간의 두뇌에는 1천억 개 이상의 뉴런이 있는데, 그 덕분에 우리는 생각하고 행동하게 된다. 그리고 뇌에는 정보를 전달하는 더 많은 시냅스가 존재한다. 디자이너는 이러한 흥미로운 과학적 사실과 아름다운 시각적 효과를 오피스에 녹여내며 다채롭고 풍성한 공간을 완성했다. Brain Embassy를 방문하는 사람들은 입구에서부터 뉴런과 시냅스에서 영감을 얻은 3차원 구조물을 통과해 내부로 들어가게 된다. 입구와 휴게 공간은 강렬한 레드 컬러의 3차원 구조물로 연결된다. 휴게 공간은 푸른 식물과 불규칙한 바닥 패턴으로 유쾌한 느낌을 준다. 모든 공간은 다른 듯, 유기적인 디자인으로 연결되어 있다. 정형화되기 쉬운 오피스 디자인이 아닌, 화려한 색감이 더해진 역동적인 분위기로 기존의 틀을 벗어난, 획기적이고 재미있는 인테리어를 보여준다. 강하고 유쾌한 인상을 주는 원색들의 조화를 볼 수 있는 Brain Embassy는 레드 컬러와 시크한 블랙, 산뜻한 그린 컬러를 공간 곳곳에서 접할 수 있다. 특히, 두 개의 층을 잇는 철제 계단은 레드 컬러로 공간 내에 묵직한 존재감을 가진다. 계단 옆에는 여러 사람들이 모여 강의를 들을 수 있는 공간이 마련되어 있는데, 사방이 막혀 답답한 공간이 아닌 오픈 스페이스로 설계되어 자유롭고 경쾌한 분위기를 풍긴다. 이뿐만 아니라 화려한 네온사인과 부드러운 원목, 푸른 식물을 더해 트렌디한 감각의 공간으로 완성했다. Brain Embassy는 많은 이들이 함께 사용하는 공유 오피스인 만큼 다양한 공간을 갖추고 있다. 천편일률적인 공간이 아니라 공간마다 색다른 주제와 컨셉 가지고 있는 것이 특징이다. 각 공간들은 상상력을 북돋워 주는 다채로운 인테리어를 컨셉으로 하는데, 이는 공간을 사용하는 사람들의 창의력을 자극하고, 독창적인 아이디어를 떠오르게 하는 데 도움을 준다. 공간별로 의자와 스토리지, 조명 같은 가구부터 소품 디테일 하나하나까지 세심하게 신경 썼다. 평범한 회의 공간 대신 자전거 모양의 의자, 체육관이 떠오르는 실내 디자인을 적용하기도 하고, 어린 시절 블록이 생각나는 연출과 알록달록한 색으로 경쾌한 분위기에서 브레인스토밍할 수 있도록 공간을 조성했다. 오피스는 단순한 일터가 아니라 여러 공동체가 형성되는 곳이기도 하다. 디자이너는 이 점을 고려해 아름답고 기능적인 사무실을 제공하는 것과 동시에 직원들끼리 협력하고 소통할 수 있는 공간을 만들었다. 또한, 일을 하다가 자칫 지루하거나 지칠 때를 위해 공간마다 다른 매력으로 꾸며 자리를 옮기는 것만으로도 전혀 다른 공간에 온 듯 색다르고 즐거운 느낌을 받을 수 있도록 했다. 클라이언트는 독창적인 환경에서 직원들이 자신의 작업 스타일을 유지할 수 있길 바랐다. 이에 Brain Embassy에서는 도서관 같은 조용한 공간에서 혼자 일할 수도 있고, 상상력과 판타지로 가득한 공간에서 아이디어를 찾을 수도 있으며, 편하게 누워 자연을 즐기다가 영감을 얻을 수도 있다. 자신이 원하는 공간과 분위기에서 일하는 것은 일의 효율성을 높이는데 크게 이바지한다. 그리고 Brain Embassy는 이런 효과를 극대화 시킬 수 있는 가장 완벽한 오피스 공간이다. Taking these facts and the visual identity system into consideration, mode:lina™ designers created a space completely in tune with the human mind. Visitors to Brain Embassy in Warsaw’s Mokotów are, from the very entrance, led right through the entire interior by three-dimensional elements, inspired by neurons and synapses. When co-working is not enough, it is worth taking yet another step forward. Not only share and discover, but also inspire one another. That is why Brain Embassy is more than just a workplace, it is also an environment where a well-knit community is formed. Brain Embassy has set a new trend with the aim of not only providing a beautiful and functional office, but most importantly of establishing an engaged community of people who work in it and co-create it. Made in Poland

폴란드의 수도이자 폴란드 최대의 도시 바르샤바에는 가장 높은 마천루 중 하나인 Q22 빌딩이 있다. 이 빌딩 35층에 위치한 오피스 ‘Made in Poland’: Echo Investment는 오각형의 구조로 건물 중심부에 시설이 구성되어있고 사무 공간은 바르샤바 최고의 스카이 라인을 볼 수 있도록 창가를 따라 배치했다.창가를 마주하고 배치된 사무공간 및 컨퍼런스 룸 덕분에 직원들은 밝은 햇살과 바르샤바의 경치를 즐기며 업무에 임할 수 있다. 충분한 자연광을 받을 수 있어서 주간에는 강렬한 조명보다 은은하고 입체적인 조명을 사용했다. 노출 천정과 한쪽 벽면은 어두운 톤으로 칠했다. 중심부의 벽면은 구로 철판을 활용했고 철판 위에 적절한 오일스테인과 열처리로 차분하면서도 단순하지 않고 자연스러운 무늬의 벽면을 구성했다. 평면도가 딱딱한 정사각형이 아닌데다가 벽면 전면창의 구조 또한 시원시원하고 입체적이어서 공간에는 점잖은 분위기가 어울리지 않았다. 이에 카펫타일로 마감한 바닥 위에 자유롭게 휴식을 취할 수 있는 쿠션 소파, 전화 부스, 목재 가구 등을 볕이 잘 드는 곳에 배치했고, 커피 테이블의 프레임을 파이프 형태로 구성하는 등 재미있는 컨셉의 공간으로 꾸몄다. 전체 프로젝트는 모두 폴란드 디자이너, 아티스트, 프로듀서들의 작품으로만 꾸몄다. 오피스는 Roman Modzelewski의 의자처럼 클래식한 폴란드의 50년대 스타일에 더해 Oskar Zięta, Tomek Rygalik, Piotr Kuchciński 같은 현대 폴란드 아티스트들의 재치 있는 가구, 작품들로 가득하다. 마운틴 리프트, 피아트 자동차 등 재미있고 알록달록한 폴란드 디자이너의 가구들이 가득한 이곳은, 쾌적한 업무 환경뿐만 아니라 즐겁고 독특한 분위기로 휴식을 취할 수 있는 공간까지 갖추고 있다. The interiors of the Echo Investment office are underlined by the Polish pedigree of the company. The project also took care of the functional zoning of the space, divided into attractive places for work and meetings, rooms for confidential conversations as well as relaxation areas. The office on the 35th floor in the Q22 building, one of the tallest skyscrapers in Warsaw, offers an amazing view of the city skyline. It was a guideline for the orientation of key zones in the office space. In the interior design only projects from Polish designers, artists and producers were used. In addition to the classics of Polish 50's design, such as Roman Modzelewski's chair, there are contemporary designs such as Oskar Zięta, Tomek Rygalik and Piotr Kuchciński. The original climate of the interior is also influenced by elements characteristic for individual regions of Poland: chairs from the mountain lift in Szczyrk, beach baskets from Sopot, or the most popular Polish car - favorite of Tank Hanks - Fiat 126p. The project also used graphics related to investments made by Echo Investment.

U-Space The golden age of the contemporary wash ink-stone pool

CROX implants the idea of share working and living space into M floor of HAOSEN LIDU business building. The evolution of sharing economy has been brought in front of LinYi City. In typical mode, companies most likely rent a whole floor of an office building Which leads to an issue of people from different companies barely have any communication within work. How to effectively create an accessible resource platform that combines local culture and bring new energy to work? We see it as a key challenge. At the early stage, CROX went to the former residence of Xizhi Wang for seeking inspiration. We felt the collision of history and contemporary ,peace and prosperity. We proposed The golden age of the contemporary wash ink-stone pool as design concept. Using a natural gradient ink bleeding into the pool, we made an open layout and free space pattern. The space is interconnected and divided into several personalized room with different functions. Water is the main feature of this space.. And CROX applied this feature to the wall to make it smooth and continuous. The flowing wall becomes a better media works within between interior and exterior light. Light casts wonderful shadows over the whole wall and presents its various forms. As the time goes by, it seems to have the wandering spirit and let the young feel the real freedom. We use fine wood , pale wall and dark stone as materials to form a curvy shape. People can walk in the space freely or sit on the sofa for a while. Between the motion and silence, the space has its own rhythm and can switch functions according to the different periods. Unique sizes of conference areas also offer different scenarios of life. USPACE multi-function room is defined as a flexible and segmented space to meet the functions of different activities. Open space structure combines with share working vibe which can be utilized as party spot, held exhibition, hipster cafe and etc. It effectively connects different industry groups and build a diverse and cooperative platform. People can communicate and interact with each other and get inspirited from this process. This leads to a new office culture atmosphere, people come and go, exchange different ideas. This co-working space has also become a kind of communalism. USPACE is a new future, an enterprise organization and personnel assignment. All kinds of innovation in various fields will promote the redefinition of work on different dimensions.
