“Risheng Liking” Tea Life Museum is located in the noisy downtown center; it was reconstructed from an old building that was ever used as scrap collection station. The designer fully dug out the rich flavor and subtle connotation of the old building; in combination with warm and broad trait and characteristics of tea, the designer referred to the pattern of traditional courtyard, and created a homelike and joyful life experience space.

The dull glory and dream of the old building, through reconstructionof a modern courtyard, with sentimental association of tea, generates clear leisurely joy and lofty spirit and pure emotion. Under the structure of more than 10 meters, the modern courtyard and mottled walls complement each other. Each unit block of the courtyard has different functions and modeling, with free conversion between brisk and dignified styles. In order to protect the old building, all the newly built units remain almost one meter away from the old walls. The original sloping roof structure had been well preserved, and became a carrier to continue and express memory and emotion.

The screen wall facing the gate in traditional courtyard was converted into a concise white;the white wall is connected with the entrance of corridor; the coherent and uniform style highlights modern minimalist beauty. The display space formed by pine wood and glass harmoniouslyinteracts with outdoor landscape; the street landscape and natural light enter the inside through the refraction and diffusion of glass and yield unusually brilliant results. The unit that corresponds to the display space is a floating glass box. With deliberate weakening of the presence of the base, the frosted effect of the glass adds some mysterious atmosphere to the box. There are two elegant tea rooms in the box, and the quiet streets outside the window are green and provide an ideal place for the tea lovers who seek tranquility here.On the other side of the screen wall, there is a relatively enclosed office. Huang Feng cleverly used a double-interlayer wall is pasted with Chinese art paper, and hide lights in the wall; the dense shadow seems to be full of interest and charm of antique taste and warmth.

"Sitting on rock for fishing, enjoying clean water and leisurely mind”; this is one of the ways for literati to pursue the mild, profound and lasting realm. The designer created a “lake” in the courtyard; in the daytime, the light obliquely enters into the water and shadow is cast onto the rock; at night, the lights in the surrounding seems to be oblique and the house is reflected on the water surface; magnanimousness, coziness, gentleness and freshness are diffused in the whole space; tea is not the focus, what people care is the consciousness and wonderful mood that could be felt by drinking tea.

"Actually, this style originally existed in marble, and I just removed the unnecessary parts." Michelangelo, the architect, thought that the essence of creation is to restore the work itself. In this modern tea life museum full of story, it is the designer’sprofound comprehension about idiosyncracy of the architecture and the tea culture that created a fashionable, simple andartistic place of practice perfection.
